To start the meeting, we'll brainstorm how we can best support other groups in responding to the Division St. homeless sweeps and other crises facing San Francisco's homeless residents. Then we’ll open the floor to hear about project updates and build teams for new projects. We'll have at least one update from our district elections project team, and we hope to build a team for a Community Police Commission to work in affinity with racial justice groups working to end police brutality.
After a break, we'll hear proposals to finalize our consensus decision making process for both urgent and longer term action items. Anyone who would like to present a proposal for consensus decision making, we ask you to write up the proposal and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday 3/8 at noon so that it can be printed and e-sent for members to reference.
Our friend Francisco Herrera often reminds us that The People's Campaign needs to plant a foundation to last beyond 2016 -- something to last for 15 years and beyond. In these times when the whole system is crumbling under the weight of its own limitations of worshiping greed and power, we are working to confront these forces and to simultaneously create a governance formed on the trust, compassion, and courage necessary to make it real. We aim to build an organization with processes that are both sophisticated yet transparent and accessible so we can effect community-oriented change for the long haul. Join us so we can build together!
